New sales boss joins at ‘defining moment’ for Caterham
Gorton will be based at Caterham’s headquarters in Dartford, Kent, and report directly to Trevor Steel, senior vice president of operations and CFO.
Gorton said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Caterham Cars at such a defining moment for the brand.
“The Caterham Seven represents everything I love about cars – lightweight performance, pure connection, and unforgettable experiences behind the wheel.
“Caterham’s commitment to delivering joy to its customers truly resonates with me, and I can’t wait to work with the team to build on its incredible heritage and create the next chapter of sales growth for the business.”
Caterham Cars was founded in 1973, when it bought the tooling, designs and exclusive rights to the model formerly sold as the Lotus Seven.
It has built cars in Dartford, both fully assembled and in kit form, since 1987, and is represented by more than 50 official retailers across 15 global markets.
The manufacturer was acquired in 2021 by dealer group VT Holdings.
