BYD has cemented its position as the nation’s fastest-growing brand since its March 2023 launch, having increased its sales volume by 658% with 8,700 cars sold in 2024.
BYD entered the UK market with the Atto 3 C-segment SUV and has since introduced four additional models in under two years with the Sealion 7 set to expand the lineup in the coming months.
Alongside its growing model range, BYD has rapidly expanded its retail network from 14 locations to 60, with plans for further expansion in 2025.
The Atto 3 remains BYD’s best-selling model, while the BYD Dolphin hatchback leads sales in the retail sector.
Steve Beattie, sales and marketing director, BYD UK, said: “In the past two years, BYD has gone from strength to strength, and I’m immensely proud of the dedication of our team and retailers. Our goal is to bring high-tech, high-value cars to UK customers, and it’s fantastic to see more people choosing BYD.”
Brand awareness has also surged, rising from just 1% in 2023 to 31% in 2024. A key driver of this growth was BYD’s sponsorship of the Euro 2024 football tournament, which reached a global audience of over a billion people.
The car maker said the Q4 2024 launch and media campaign for the Seal U DM-i also played a significant role in strengthening the brand’s presence.
