After more than two decades as a Suzuki dealership, Melton Mowbray independent retailer Browning is marking the end of an era as one of 30 dealer casualties affected by the Japanese brand’s new network strategy.
From June 30, the family-run motor dealer will no longer represent the Suzuki brand – a shock departure after a two-decade partnership and being ranked highly for customer trust and recommendation. It is now launching as the official Melton partner for Korean car maker KGM, formerly known as SsangYong.
“This change comes after Suzuki’s significant reduction in their product lineup and dealer network, resulting in fewer new car registrations across the UK. Around 30 dealers are leaving the network as part of a geographic restructuring. This decision is not a reflection of our performance,” said Mikhail Clarke, Browning sales manager.
“In fact, we are proud to be one of Suzuki’s top-performing dealers and ranked number one in the country for trust and likelihood to recommend. Despite this transition, we remain under the same ownership with the same team, and our commitment to providing exceptional service remains stronger than ever.
Browning will continue to operate from its Norman Way site and will remain an Authorised Suzuki Repairer, offering full servicing, repairs and maintenance supporting the recently launched 10-year Suzuki service activated warranty.
“We are all really excited to announce our new partnership with KGM. This respected South Korean brand has a 70-year heritage and has been in the UK market since 1994 with the launch of the original Musso. KGM offers a wide selection of high-quality, great-value vehicles and specialises in SUVs across a variety of sizes and capabilities. These vehicles are predominantly powered by petrol and diesel, with hybrid and full electric offerings too.
“Our whole team believe Browning and KGM is a strong partnership because we share the same core values,” said Clarke.
