Charms LLC, the manufacturer of Blow Pops, plans to expand its longtime Tennessee manufacturing and distribution hub, state officials announced last week.
The nearly $98 million project will add 62 new jobs in Covington. After completion, the Tootsie Roll Industries subsidiary will employ nearly 500 people in the county.
Charms first began making candy in the West Tennessee city in 1973.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to grow our presence in the town of Covington,” HT Davis, the plant’s manager, said in the announcement. “We are extremely proud to be a part of this community and are looking forward to future growth together. This plant addition will enable us to expand our manufacturing operations and help us to better serve our customers.”
