Austrian-based battery diagnostics specialist Aviloo has updated its plug-in vehicle battery diagnostics technology to help dealers independently test the condition of used plug-in vehicles.
From 23 June, Aviloo’s improved certificate will be available at no extra cost to existing FLASH Test users, including dealers, leasing firms, fleets and auction houses.
Results are delivered in three minutes, providing a detailed overview through a new Aviloo preview report — a simplified visual summary designed for use across sales platforms and easily understood by both technical and non-technical users.
Key features of the enhanced certificate include an Aviloo Certified seal for vehicles where no defects or anomalies are detected.
The vehicle’s state of health (SoH) reading is now calculated independently rather than pulled from the vehicle’s system.
Dealers can now also see how a battery compares to similar vehicles by age, mileage and battery size — helping to justify pricing and support informed decisions.
A new graphical interface shows any internal battery issues, pinpointing affected cells and their severity.
The certificate also includes the actual achievable range, with comparisons to WLTP data and averages from Aviloo’a dataset.
Aviloo chief executive Marcus Berger said the update represents a leap forward in transparency for the used EV market: “Unlike a standard SoH readout, our test independently calculates battery health.
“That’s key for used sales.
“An international 2024 study showed dealers who use Aviloo certificates see average margin increases of €550 (£470) to €1,100 (£940) per vehicle, thanks to greater buyer confidence and fewer pricing disputes.”
