Auxillias has appointed Dan Richards to head up its remediation programmes, as regulatory scrutiny intensifies across the motor finance sector.

Richards brings over 25 years of experience in financial services, having led major remediation and transformation programmes spanning payment protection insurance (PPI), financial crime, complaints handling and Section 166 reviews.

His arrival comes as Auxillias prepares to roll out a new support service focused on commission and redress programmes – a move seen as timely with the Supreme Court expected to soon deliver its decision in the high-profile case.

Regulatory investigations and authorisations expert Andy Smith recently joined the team at Auxillias as an independent regulatory consultant.

The upcoming ruling could trigger widespread redress claims linked to historic motor finance commission arrangements, prompting many lenders and intermediaries to review their risk exposure and readiness.

Richards said: “Our new support service is designed to give firms the structure and insight they need to respond quickly and confidently to what lies ahead.”

In addition to his new role, Richards continues as chief executive of Profexx Partners, a firm specialising in tech-enabled remediation across financial services.

Auxillias chief executive Jo Davis added: “Dan’s track record speaks for itself.

“With the Supreme Court ruling imminent, we’re already working with clients to ensure they’re not caught off guard.

“Dan’s experience will be invaluable as we help firms navigate what could be a defining moment for the sector.”

Further details on the commission and redress support programme are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
