Warrantywise has launched updated warranty plan books (V15.1), effective 3rd February 2026, with clearer wording, key repair threshold extensions and improved alignment to how repairs are assessed in practice.

Dealers are operating in an environment where customers are more informed, regulatory expectations are evolving, and vehicle age profiles continue to rise. In that context, how a warranty plan is explained and documented plays a central role in supporting clear, consistent customer conversations.

The revisions focus on improving clarity, ensuring consistency of wording and aligning documentation more closely with how the warranty plan operates in practice

Importantly, the core structure and intent of the plans remain unchanged. The update is centred on refinement rather than redesign, making documentation clearer for both dealers and customers with the ultimate aim of a clearer sale and better customer experience.

Aligning Documentation with Practice

Across the sector, there is a growing recognition that clarity drives conversion. When customers clearly understand what will be assessed for repair in line with their warranty plan and how the process works in practice, they are more likely to commit and less likely to face confusion later. For dealers, that means fewer friction points, smoother handovers and stronger long-term relationships.

The updated plan books aim to reduce that friction by presenting information in a clearer, more accessible format. Warrantywise dealers benefit from more straightforward explanations at point of sale. For customers, it provides a clearer understanding of how the plan operates and what to expect throughout the term.

Reflecting the Reality of an Ageing Car Parc

The UK car parc continues to age, and that shift is reshaping stock profiles across forecourts, often leading dealerships to retail older, higher mileage vehicles.

Previously, premature failure was not applicable once a vehicle reached eight years old or 80,000 miles. Under the revised plan books, this threshold has been extended to ten years or 100,000 miles. The extension adjusts the eligibility parameters in line with today’s vehicle parc realities and helps support conversion for those higher age, higher mileage vehicles.

Supporting a Smooth Transition

The updated plans became active on 3rd February 2026, with the Dealer Portal transitioning automatically to the revised documentation. Current Warrantywise dealers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated wording via the Dealer Portal to support accurate and consistent presentation.

The revisions to Warrantywise’s plan books are intended to ensure that wording reflects operational reality, eligibility thresholds align with today’s vehicle parc, and clarity aids sales conversations and customer experience alike.
