ABB’s electrification manufacturing plant in Bella Vista, Argentina, has reduced its operational greenhouse gas emissions by 97% compared to 2019 levels.
The Tucumán-based site, which employs more than 150 people and has operated for over five decades, now runs entirely on renewable electricity.
Around 15% of its power is generated on-site through solar panels, with the remaining 85% sourced via I-REC certified renewable electricity.
In 2024 alone, the plant cut 530 tonnes of CO₂e, equivalent to the annual emissions of around 115 petrol-powered cars.
The facility manufactures low-voltage products including miniature circuit breakers and residual current devices for markets across Latin America.
The site has also achieved a 91% waste diversion rate under its Zero Waste to Landfill programme.
ABB said the project demonstrates how electrification, automation and digital intelligence can reduce emissions while maintaining operational performance and competitiveness.
