Research published by Ofgem and Citizens Advice has shown that overall satisfaction with energy suppliers has maintained a record high at 82%, whilst more consumers are finding their bills easy to understand (84%).
Following calls from the industry to rebrand the energy transition and make energy more digestible for the general public, it seems that suppliers have taken action, as 84% of respondents said they found their bills easy to understand. This marks an increase from the beginning of the year, as the figure sat at 82% in January.
Customer service and accessibility is also on the rise – ease of contacting suppliers reached an all-time high of 80% in the survey, up from 78% in January 2026, while satisfaction with customer service continues to trend upward and is now at a record high of 78%.
Meanwhile, the broader energy transition in households is represented through the proportion of customers with a smart meter, currently at its highest recorded figure of 73%, in line with DESNZ reporting.
The public also reported their highest ever level of satisfaction with their smart meters, at 80%.
Zooming out further, the wider financial stability of the UK can be seen through the financial vulnerability section of the survey, in which the proportion of those classified as “doing well” in Ofgem’s financial vulnerability classification has increased to 49% following a drop in January 2026 to 44%.
Ofgem says levels have not yet returned to the highs recorded in July and August 2025, which stood at 53%.
