Following strike action from workers at Apache, many employees at Wood have walked out as unions protest proposed changes to their employment terms.

The action affects workers of the offshore company Wood on Harbour Energy-operated assets, including more than five offshore platforms.

Production, instrument and mechanical technicians are among those taking part in the first two-day stoppage, which began at midnight.

Further strikes are planned for 20th – 21st October and 3rd – 4th November, while RMT members have also been told not to work overtime from 8th October.

The BBC have reported that the Wood Group said it had been notified of the action and added that staff and operational safety remained its “top priority”.

The unions say the dispute centres on proposed changes to pay and conditions, including concerns over potential fire-and-rehire arrangements.
