AM100 dealership group Waylands increased pre-tax profit by a third to £4.1 million in 2025 as dealership expansion, higher vehicle sales and a sharp rise in aftersales activity helped revenue reach a record £266.2m.

Revenue at the dealer group rose by 34.4%, supported by a 36.5% increase in vehicle volumes. On a like-for-like basis, volumes were 27.5% ahead of the previous year.

Service departments also made a significant contribution, with hours sold increasing by 37.8% compared with 2024.

Despite higher operating costs and difficult economic conditions, pre-tax profit grew by 33.2%. On a like-for-like basis, the increase was 37.9%.

Waylands also recorded its seventh consecutive year of EBITDA growth, although the group did not disclose the underlying figure in its announcement.

Acquisitions expand dealer footprint

Growth during 2025 included the acquisition of Honda dealerships in Bristol and Cardiff, with the Cardiff business marking Waylands’ entry into Wales. The group also added Omoda and Jaecoo representation in Bristol.

The additions gave Waylands greater scale and broadened the mix of manufacturers, powertrains and price points available across its dealerships.

Waylands invested a further £7m in the business during the year, including £5.2m spent on freehold property acquisitions. Investment in dealership technology, cybersecurity and renewable energy projects has continued into 2026.

John O’Hanlon, chief executive at Waylands, said: “2025 was another record year for Waylands, with strong growth across vehicle sales, aftersales and profitability. This performance, achieved against a challenging economic backdrop, reflects the strength of our strategy and the commitment of colleagues across the Group.

“Our expansion in Bristol and into Cardiff has given the business greater scale and broadened our manufacturer partnerships, while continued investment in our properties, technology and people is building a strong platform for sustainable growth.

“Seven consecutive years of EBITDA growth is a significant achievement, but we remain focused on the future and on delivering consistently for our customers, colleagues and manufacturer partners.”

Expansion continues into 2026

Waylands continued its acquisition strategy in March 2026 with the purchase of Cambridge Garage Motor Holdings, strengthening its Volvo dealership representation and scale in the region.

The group now represents Volvo, Polestar, Kia, Honda, Omoda, Jaecoo, MG and AION and employs more than 500 people across 21 franchise representation points in southern England and Wales.
