Kia has revealed the second electric van from its PBV line-up, the PV7, which as a medium van enters the UK’s biggest-selling van segment.
The PV7 has made its debut at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Germany, in both Cargo van and Passenger forms – the latter will be available with seating for up to nine.
The PV7 has debuted in Long form, measuring 5,350mm in length. The full range will also comprise Standard length, High Roof and Chassis Cab variants, along with what Kia says will be “a wide range” of conversion models.

The PV7 is based on Kia’s E-GMP.S platform, with a flat-floor design. It joins the smaller PV5, which launched last year, in the PBV range. Kia’s third electric van, the larger PV9, is scheduled to launch in 2029.
The PV7 Cargo will be sold with either two or three seats, with the long version offering up to 6.1m3 of load space, and the high roof up to 8m3.
There will be a maximum payload of up to 1,165kg for the Long version, and up to 1,200kg for the Standard; the Long has a 550mm load height and capacity for up to three Euro pallets.
The model will come with either a full-open twin-swing tailgate, or a conventional lift-up tailgate should buyers prefer. A smart walk away feature will automatically shut the power sliding door when the driver steps away with the smart key; other features include a load-through bulkhead and independent cargo door lock/unlock functionality.
As for the Passenger variant, the seven-seat version equipped with easy-remove seats, while the nine-seat version will be available with or without a fourth row.
Nearly 300 miles of range possible
Two battery pack options have been announced for the PV7, with capacities of 71.5kWh or 96.2kWh; Kia has quoted a maximum range of more than 285 miles for the Long Range Cargo version. The manufacturer says that depending on market, a maximum output of 272PS will be on offer. At launch, the PV7 will be front-wheel drive, however an all-wheel drive version is in the pipeline.
When plugged into a 350kW DC charging point, a 10-80% battery charge will be possible in the mid-20-minute range via the standard front AC/DC charging port; an additional rear side AC port will be available as an option.
Vehicle-to-load functionality will allow the PV7 to power equipment, and a heavy-load driving mode will allow the powertrain to adapt to variations in payload.
Android-based infotainment and AI
The PV7 will come with a Pleos Connect infotainment system, based on Android Automotive. Features will include connected sat-nav, flexible screen layouts, an open app marketplace, over-the-air updates and the Gleo AI voice assistant.
Among myriad safety systems will be Pedal Misapplication Safety Assist 2.0, which according to Kia is designed to reduce the risk of unintended acceleration from drivers pressing the wrong pedal.
The exterior design features some familiar elements from the PV5, such as a cab-forward look and black bonnet.
The PV7 will go on sale in the second half of 2027. Full UK specs and prices are yet to be announced.
