Home energy storage is becoming an increasingly important part of energy transition goals. But for many households and installers, conventional battery systems can be difficult to install and manage and are limited in their ability to respond intelligently to changing energy prices.
Anker SOLIX is aiming to address those challenges with the UK and Ireland launch of the Anker SOLIX XE, an all-in-one home energy storage system that integrates the inverter, battery and battery management system into a single unit.
The XE starts with a 7kWh battery and can be expanded to 42kWh using stackable modules. Up to three units can also operate in parallel, providing a total system capacity of 126kWh and very flexible capacity.
Three inverter options are available, which are 5kW, 6kW and 8kW. The 8kW model is designed to accommodate the majority of single-phase household peak loads, including EV charging.
The system also incorporates three Maximum Power Point Trackers(MPPT) and supports up to 15kW of solar input. This enables solar arrays facing different directions to be managed independently, helping households make greater use of available generation throughout the day.
Its design removes the need for separate inverter, battery and Battery Management System (BMS) components which reduces external wiring and simplify installation. The system can be commissioned in as little as five minutes, with much of the configuration completed before it reaches site.
The XE uses 314Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells and is designed for 10,000 charge-discharge cycles, offering a 10-year warranty for the system.
Rather than being limited to a single daily cycle, the system is designed to support two cycles a day. Solar energy can be stored during daylight hours for use during evening peaks, while the battery can subsequently charge from the grid when electricity prices are lower, enabling reduced energy costs.
The system’s AI-powered Energy Management System, through Anker PowerOS, connects with more than 870 electricity suppliers across Europe. It can automatically manage charging and discharging according to household demand, solar generation and electricity prices.
For households looking for greater resilience, the XE supports whole-home or partial backup, with up to 8kW backup power from a single unit and up to 16kW in parallel configurations.
Paired with Anker SOLIX Backup Auto-Switch, the system can provide 0ms backup switching when the grid fails. The compact unit is designed to install directly onto an existing DIN rail, with installation being reduced by up to 99% compared with conventional ATS (automatic transfer switch).
The XE also has C5-M corrosion resistance and IP66 weatherproofing, making it suitable for marine and outdoor environments.
Its safety architecture includes aerospace-grade insulation, electrolyte leak protection, pressure relief and active fire suppression, alongside AI-powered monitoring.
For installers and households, the product brings battery, inverter, intelligent energy management and backup capabilities together in a system designed to make energy storage easier to install and easier to use.
