Aion has announced that orders for the UT, its new electric supermini, will open in September, ahead of the first customer deliveries in October.
The UT will be the Chinese brand’s second model to launch in the UK, following on from the V SUV.
The UT will feature a 60kWh battery with a 204PS electric motor, allowing a 268-mile range and a 0-62mph acceleration time of 7.3 seconds. A 30-80% battery charge will be possible in 24 minutes.

Aion says that the version of the UT which will be sold in the UK has had its suspension specifically engineered for the country’s roads, with modifications to the springs, dampers, bump-stops and calibration and a revised anti-roll bar.
The model will be offered with a single trim level, with standard equipment including heated front seats, a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 360-degree camera system. However, an optional Premium Pack will be available, adding features such as a panoramic glass roof, a powered tailgate, a ventilated driver’s seat and wireless phone charging.
There will be a choice of five exterior paint colours.
Extensive aftersales offering
The UT will come with Aion’s Great Eight Promise aftersales package, which includes an eight-year warranty, eight years’ servicing, eight years of roadside assistance and MOTs until the car is eight years old. This package is linked to the vehicle and therefore is also available to second-hand buyers.
Prices for the UT are yet to be confirmed.
