Iberdrola has received two international awards recognising its leadership in sustainable finance and its contribution to the energy transition.

The company was named the leading corporate issuer of green, social or sustainable bonds at the GlobalCapital Bond Awards 2026. It was also recognised as Europe’s most sustainable electricity company at the World Finance Sustainability Awards 2026.

The awards acknowledge Iberdrola’s strategy to accelerate decarbonisation through electrification and to finance projects with positive environmental impacts.

The GlobalCapital Bond Awards are dedicated to the international bond market, with winners selected by market participants. The recognition reflects Iberdrola’s position as one of the world’s leading issuers of sustainable finance products.

In 2025, the company became the first Spanish business to issue a bond under the European Green Bond Standard. It also became the first company globally to achieve dual certification by complying with both the EU Green Bond Standard and the International Capital Markets Association’s Green Bond Principles.

Since then, Iberdrola has issued four green bonds aligned with both frameworks.
