BYD’s premium brand Denza has unveiled its halo Z electric supercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, using the flagship model to showcase the performance and technology that will underpin its future European line-up.

A Nürburgring-focused Special Edition has also been confirmed.
The Coupe is priced at £142,900, the Spider is £159,900 and the range topping Racing is priced at £172,900.

Halo model showcases Denza technology
The Z is built on Denza’s new e3 Sports Car Platform and introduces a range of technologies expected to feature across future models, including a triple-motor drivetrain, Cell-to-Body battery integration, magnetorheological suspension and an integrated vehicle control system.
The Coupe accelerates from 0-62mph in 2.25 seconds, while the Spider completes the sprint in 2.32 seconds. Top speeds range from 186mph to 217mph, depending on the model.
All variants use a 76kWh second-generation Blade Battery and support BYD’s Flash Charging technology, allowing a 10% to 97% recharge in nine minutes under compatible charging conditions.
The Long Range Coupe offers a WLTP range of up to 254 miles.
Despite its supercar credentials, the Z has been developed as a four-seat grand tourer, with the Coupe offering a 250-litre boot that expands to 550 litres with the rear seats folded.
The cabin features an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google Built-in, heated and ventilated seats with massage functions, and a Devialet sound system.

A showcase for Denza’s technology-led approach
The Z made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed after being unveiled by BYD executive vice president Stella Li alongside former Formula One world champion Jenson Button.
Li said: “The Denza Z is born to perform and built to win. It redefines performance with its power, acceleration and dynamic ability and Flash Charging means it’s the only electric supercar without compromise on how these strengths can be used.
“Z is a great example of how DENZA’s technology-led approach is going to set new benchmarks in every segment it enters.”
Denza said orders for the Coupe, Spider and Racing variants will open in selected markets this summer, with first customer deliveries expected before the end of the year. UK pricing has yet to be announced.
