Mazda has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for the all-new Mazda6e ahead of its arrival in showrooms this summer, with the brand positioning the electric saloon as a key model for dealers and fleet growth.

Priced from £38,995, the Mazda6e will be offered in Takumi and Takumi Plus trims, both sitting below the £40,000 Expensive Car Supplement threshold.

The launch also comes with retailer support offers designed to ease EV adoption, including a £499 home charger package for retail and Mazda Contract Hire customers ordering before June 30, alongside a £500 public charging credit through the Mazda Public Charging App.

A statement of intent for the future

Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda Motors UK, said the Mazda6e represented a significant opportunity for the dealer network.

He said: “The Mazda6e is the car our dealers have been waiting for, with a nod to the popularity of the Mazda6 it’s a real statement of intent for the future and illustrates how Mazda can bring great design, technology and style to battery electric vehicles.”

Thomson said the model had been tuned specifically for UK customer preferences, with suspension, steering and braking calibrated by Mazda Research Europe in Frankfurt.

He added: “In the UK we are facing some unique and complex challenges in the balance between EV legislation and consumer demand but at Mazda we will introduce new models and ensure our product range fits the pace of actual consumer demand in the UK with technologies that are amongst the best in the market.”

Mazda said the 78kWh LFP battery delivers a WLTP range of 348 miles, while 10 to 80% rapid charging can be completed in 24 minutes using a 195kW DC charger.

The rear-wheel drive EV produces 258PS and completes the 0-62mph sprint in 7.9 seconds.

Thomson also highlighted the car’s importance for fleet operators, particularly within the growing D-segment EV market.

He said: “With a UK price that sees both models under £40,000, this value proposition is even more tempting when you see the huge tally of equipment and technology fitted as standard across both the Takumi and Takumi Plus.

“The Mazda6e is also a car that positions Mazda strongly in the expanding D segment BEV fleet market, where the cars blend of style, value, practicality and desirability will I’m sure win over business users.”

The Mazda6e replaces the long-running Mazda6 saloon and estate, which was sold in the UK across three generations between 2002 and 2023.

Mazda described the new EV as combining “premium saloon proportions” with hatchback practicality, alongside a redesigned digital cabin featuring a 14.6-inch touchscreen, augmented reality head-up display and panoramic roof.

The launch also signals further expansion of Mazda’s EV range, with the CX-6e SUV due to arrive in the UK later this year.
