Changan surpasses 60 UK dealers in nationwide expansion

Changan UK has partnered with more than 60 dealers across the UK less than a year after entering the market.

The Chinese brand said the milestone gives it nationwide retail and aftersales coverage across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Changan entered the UK market in September 2025 with the launch of the Deepal S07 electric SUV, followed by the Deepal S05 earlier this year.

The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) said its network now includes dealer groups such as Lithia, John Clark Motor Group, Allen Motor Group, WLMG and Donalds Group.

Changan said all dealer partners undergo training at its Birmingham Technical Excellence Centre before opening, covering product knowledge, aftersales processes and customer care standards.

The Birmingham facility also supports the brand’s UK engineering and research operations, with more than 100 engineers focused on powertrain optimisation and vehicle technology development.

The OEM said it is also working with Thatcham Research to ensure its vehicles meet UK insurance and repair standards.

The collaboration includes repair methods, parts pricing and technical data used by insurers to determine premiums.

Changan said it is also engaging directly with insurers to improve confidence in the brand and its aftersales infrastructure.

Improving parts availability

To support the growing network, Changan has established a UK parts warehouse near East Midlands Airport in partnership with logistics specialist Kuehne + Nagel.

The company said the operation is designed to improve parts availability and reduce vehicle off-road times for customers.

BNP Paribas Personal Finance is supporting the brand’s dealer and retail finance operations.
