Jaecoo UK has expanded its compact SUV line-up with the introduction of a new full-hybrid variant, the Jaecoo 5 SHS-H, priced from £26,270 OTR with customer deliveries expected from Q3 2026.
The new model adds a full-hybrid powertrain to the existing petrol and electric options, offering dealers a broader choice of drivetrains in the competitive compact SUV segment.
Hybrid powertrain expands range
The Jaecoo 5 SHS-H pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a dedicated hybrid transmission to deliver a combined output of up to 165 kW.
With a 1.83 kWh battery and 51-litre fuel tank, the SUV offers a total driving range of more than 650 miles and fuel economy of up to 53 mpg (WLTP), while accelerating from 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds.
The addition follows the rollout of similar hybrid technology across the wider Chery International portfolio, including the Omoda 5 SHS-H and the larger Jaecoo 7 SHS-H.
Specification and pricing
The SHS-H variant retains the same exterior design as the petrol-powered Jaecoo 5, including its upright stance, wide shoulders and waterfall grille, with five exterior colours available alongside optional two-tone finishes.
It will be offered in Pure and Luxury trims. Entry-level models feature a 13.2-inch touchscreen, Sony audio system and wireless smartphone connectivity, while higher-spec versions add features such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and heated and ventilated front seats.

It gives customers a more efficient way to drive, particularly around urban areas, but without asking them to change anything about how they use the car. That balance is exactly what we wanted to achieve with this version.”
Pricing starts from £26,270 OTR for the Pure trim and £29,765 OTR for the Luxury trim. The model will be backed by a seven-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery warranty, and sold through Omoda&Jaecoo UK’s dealer network.
