Honda will introduce its new Super-N compact electric car to the UK market from July, with pricing set to start at under £20,000 as the brand targets a more accessible entry point into EV ownership.

The Super-N combines retro-inspired design with new driving technology, delivering up to 199 miles of city range with a combined range of 128 miles.

Inspired by the 1980s City Turbo II, the Super-N has larger bumpers and prominent detailing to create a more dynamic look than typical city EVs.

Built on Honda’s lightweight N Series platform, the model has been engineered around the brand’s ‘Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum’ philosophy, aiming to maximise cabin space and usability while keeping overall weight low.

Boost mode drives engagement

A key feature is Boost Mode, which increases power output from 47kW to 70kW via the car’s compact e-Axle, delivering stronger performance on demand.

The system is paired with a simulated seven-speed transmission and Active Sound Control, designed to replicate the feel and sound of a combustion engine while retaining the instant response of an electric drivetrain.

Michael Doyle, head of automobile, Honda UK, said: “The Super-N promises to bring Honda’s ‘Joy of Driving’ and the thrill of EV performance to a whole new audience. With its iconic looks, driving dynamics tailored to UK roads, and unique features such as BOOST Mode, every aspect of this model has been engineered to bring exhilaration and fun to every journey, no matter how short.

“Yet despite its focus on driver excitement, it retains all the traditional Honda values of practicality, efficiency and everyday ease-of-use, alongside an all-electric range that is ideally suited to urban driving or the average daily commute.”
