Well it’s one way to get noticed!
Vattenfall has signed up Hollywood legend Samuel L Jackson to front a series of F-bomb adverts showcasing the benefits of offshore windfarms.
Jackson has clearly had it with these motherf***ing fossil fuels on this motherf***ing planet – and now is fronting a campaign with Wind Farmed Seaweed Snacks – sustainably grown between the turbines of an offshore wind farm in Denmark.
The same guy who once held up a diner in Pulp Fiction, is now promoting snacks grown in the ocean on strings between giant whirring blades.
Call it the Royale with Seas.
“These offshore wind farms aren’t just producing fossil free electricity, they also create a habitat for sea life to grow,” said Jackson. “For example seaweed, food that can help regenerate the marine environment. That’s next-level thinking.”
This whole setup comes from Vattenfall’s WIN@Sea project – exploring how offshore wind farms can do more than light up your home. Why not grow snacks while you’re at it?
Vattenfall’s Head of Environment, Helle Herk-Hansen, said: “The Wind Farmed Seaweed Snacks demonstrate that this is possible. And with an advocate like Samuel L. Jackson, we had the opportunity to share that message with more people.”
For Jackson, it’s not just any paid gig, the actor actually studied marine biology before hitting Hollywood.
Now he’s putting that knowledge to work: “It’s about the world we’re leaving behind for the next generation.”
