BCA has announced record-breaking electric vehicle (EV) sales, with nearly 1,300 units sold in the final week of June alone, marking a significant milestone for the vehicle remarketer.

At the half-year mark, BCA sold over 26,000 EVs – averaging more than 1,000 units a week. Average sale price was just over £19,000, with each vehicle attracting 20 digital views across its online catalogues.

BCA COO Stuart Pearson said the momentum is a clear sign of market maturity. “This year we have continued to see rising volumes of EVs sold in our online auctions and values have become less volatile as demand has risen.”

“The steady growth in EV volumes and increased engagement from buyers for this product shows a marketplace that is starting to mature and become established across the wider used vehicle sector.”

BCA said a key factor behind the strong performance had been the success of its Battery Health Grading system, launched in 2024.

In the record week, the average battery score across all vehicles sold stood at 94.6%, with the average vehicle age being 3 years and 2 months.

BCA recently rolled out an enhanced EV report certificate which includes a statement of health percentage and a graphical benchmark comparison that enables buyers to assess battery condition against similar vehicles by model, age, and mileage.

The report also provides detailed battery analytics, supporting better decision-making around maintenance, resale, and warranty coverage.

Pearson added: “BCA continues to invest in and refine the remarketing process, particularly in terms of the quality of information we can share with our buyers through our Battery Health Grading and BCA EV Assured reports.  This helps build confidence in the process for both sellers and buyers alike.”
