A prominent vehicle showroom and workshop complex in Oldham has been sold for a price significantly above its original £975,000 guide, following competitive bidding.
The sale was completed on an entirely unconditional basis by NG Chartered Surveyors, with the property drawing more than 100 enquiries from prospective buyers.
The site, located on Park Road, was owned by Motus Holdings (UK), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Motus Corporation, South Africa’s largest automotive group.
The property had been occupied by Pentagon Motor Group, part of Motus Group (UK), and operated as a Seat dealership.
The 1.73-acre site includes four detached buildings providing a combined floor space of 20,078 sq ft.
These buildings comprise two vehicle showrooms, along with ancillary office accommodation, a workshop, valeting bays, MOT facilities, and extensive display and forecourt parking areas.
The property was brought to market with a guide price of £975,000, but due to exceptional demand, the sale was agreed at a substantially higher price after going to best and final offers.
NG Chartered Surveyors’ managing director Richard Sutton commented: “This was a high-profile site and one that clearly captured the attention of the market. We were extremely pleased with the level of interest it generated, particularly given the complexity of the title, which spans four long leasehold interests.
“Despite that, buyers were undeterred and recognised the strong location and potential for future use. The sale moved quickly, with solicitors instructed less than six weeks after launch.”
He added that the variety of buildings and uses onsite contributed to its appeal, especially for buyers seeking flexible commercial premises in a well-connected location.
