Antonio Filosa, Stellantis’ new chief executive, has kicked off a new long-term strategic review of the business.
In his first appearance as the company’s new boss, Filosa set our four high level priorities – prepare the business for the future, grow the business, improve industrial execution and quality.
Filosa told reporters on a video call from Turin, Italy, that “there is nothing wrong at Stellantis that cannot be fixed with what is right at Stellantis”.
He said each of these key priorities has to be carried out “with intensity and joy”.
Filosa said his approach is to create an environment based on respect where people “can speak up and be listened to”. He said this, combined with the right people, a clear set of goals, mutual trust and comeptitive mindset, will make the business “unstoppable”.
Filosa won the CEO role back in May due to “his proven track record of hands-on success during his more than 25 years in the automotive industry, the depth and span of his experience around the world, his unrivalled knowledge of the company and his recognized leadership qualities.”
He succeeds Carlos Tavares, who resigned from the business at the end of 2024 and there has been much rejigging of the global executive team over the last six months.
At the time of his appointment last month, Stellantis said Filosa won the CEO role due to: “His proven track record of hands-on success during his more than 25 years in the automotive industry, the depth and span of his experience around the world, his unrivalled knowledge of the company and his recognized leadership qualities.”
