Baxter’s North Cove manufacturing site was significantly impacted by the rain and storm surge in late September 2024 from Hurricane Helene, which resulted in water flooding the facility.

Now, after months of recovery efforts, the company announced that its inventory levels are restored and therefore allocations have been removed for virtually all IV Solutions product codes manufactured at North Cove. This update follows the February announcement that North Cove had returned to pre-hurricane production levels, less than five months after the storm.

“I am incredibly proud of the Baxter team worldwide who stepped up for their colleagues, our patients and customers, in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene,” said Heather Knight, Baxter’s chief operating officer. “To our customers in the U.S. and around the world, you can always count on Baxter’s commitment to our mission to Save and Sustain lives, in support of our customers and the patients they serve.”

The plant employs more than 2,500 people and focuses primarily on making intravenous and peritoneal dialysis solutions. Despite the disruption to operations, the company said there was no structural damage to the factory.
