Industry charity Ben is urging the automotive sector to step up for National Walking Month by joining the Thames Bridges Trek and Kiltwalk fundraising events.

With more than a third of automotive employees not getting enough physical activity, Ben said the walking events are a great opportunity to support both physical wellbeing and colleagues in crisis.

  • Thames Bridges Trek – September 13, 2025 – The London-based 25km trek will see around 2,500 walkers cross 16 iconic bridges while raising vital funds for Ben’s support services.
  • Kiltwalk – Multiple dates and Scottish locations offering four, 11 and 20-mile distances, this event spans several cities: Aberdeen – June 1, Dundee – June 17,  Edinburgh – September 14

Matt Wigginton, Ben’s director of partnerships, engagement and income, said: “We know many in our automotive family are under pressure – dealing with stress, poor mental health or financial difficulties.

“Every step you take and every pound you raise helps us be there for those who need us most.”

Ben is encouraging employers to rally teams to take part, with the events offering a team-building opportunity alongside fundraising for the industry’s dedicated charity.
