Brothers Dan and Ashley Mustoe have opened their second repair centre, fulfilling a promise they made to Fix Auto UK when they joined the network less than a year ago.
In May last year, the duo integrated their family-owned business into the network as Fix Auto Caldicot. Now, they have expanded with Fix Auto Bristol Central, a 5,500 sq ft established repair centre located in the heart of Bristol.
Situated within a gated, secured compound, the new site features two workshops and office space, allowing the team to hit the ground running. Within just a month of acquiring the site, they successfully obtained BS10125 certification and achieved Vehicle Manufacturer Approved status for Suzuki, with Stellantis approvals currently in progress.
With the new facility located less than 30 minutes from their existing Caldicot bodyshop, a team of seven at the new Bristol site will focus on light and medium repairs, while heavier repairs will be triaged to their larger Caldicot facility.
Their rapid expansion mirrors the success of fellow Welsh business partners Paul Gravell and Matthew Davies, who joined Fix Auto UK with Fix Auto Swansea West in 2023 and doubled their operation last summer with the launch of Fix Auto Pontypridd.
“When we took the business over from our father and joined Fix Auto UK, we did so expressing ambitions and that we wanted to take our whole operation to a new level, and that ultimately meant expanding,” said Ashley Mustoe.
“We heard how the previous owner wanted to retire and seized an opportunity. The new site complements Caldicot and provides the much-needed support for the city of Bristol.
“These first few weeks have been like whirlwind. The staff at the new site have fully embraced what we’re out to achieve and this has been reflected in gaining our BS10125 certification along with being acknowledged by two VMs.”
Dan Mustoe added: “Joining Fix Auto UK has opened so many doors for us, crucially the support we have received has given us the confidence we needed to fulfil our ambitions to take the business to that next level. It really does complement our existing site.”
Fix Auto UK’s operations director Mark Hutchins, commented: “Ashley and Dan epitomise that new breed of bodyshop owner and we are extremely fortunate to be able to attract them to the network. They’re young and ambitious but with level heads firmly on their shoulders. It’s incredibly exciting to see them flourish, the new site really is an exciting addition, not just to their proposition, but for additional support it brings the network.”
