Two Cadillac concepts cars – the Opulent Velocity and the SOLLEI – were recognized at the 18th annual EyesOn Design Awards, which recognizes “exceptional design in production and concept vehicles.” The awards program took place earlier this month in connection with the 2025 Detroit Auto Show.

The Opulent Velocity won the award for Best Concept Vehicle Design. Introduced in summer 2024, the electric vehicle features an aerodynamic design, butterfly doors, and a multisensory interior.

The vehicle’s name reflects its driving experience: Opulent, delivering an immersive, customizable autonomous experience complete with ambient lighting and advanced tech; and Velocity, unleashing an advanced hypercar performance.

Cadillac’s SOLLEI won the award for Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials. SOLLEI’s hand-painted “Manila Cream” nods to the brand’s iconic 1950s palette. For the interior, Cadillac designers used Fine Mycelium, a bio-based material derived from mushroom roots, highlighting the brand’s focus on sustainable design. Complementing this is Fine Nappa leather with a pink iridescent finish that subtly shifts in the light. These design choices reflect Cadillac’s commitment to creating sustainable luxury while celebrating its storied past.
