Alpine will launch its first electric vehicle in April this year with its new sporty A290 hatchback priced from £33,500.
Based on the new Renault 5, the A290 is equipped with a 52kWh battery and can be specified with either a 180PS or a 220PS electric motor.
There’s a choice of four trim grades plus a limited Launch Edition.
GT and GT Premium models come with the 180PS motor, giving a range of 236 miles and a 0-62mph acceleration time of 7.4 seconds.
The standard equipment list includes heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and a wireless phone charging pad. All A290 variants also come with a 10-inch central touchscreen with integrated Google services.
Stepping up to GT Premium adds leather upholstery, a premium audio system, bi-colour roof and electric folding door mirrors.
GT Performance and GTS models are fitted with the more powerful 220PS motor and come with sports tyres and Alpine Telemetrics. These more potent models have a 226-mile range and can hit 62mph from rest in 6.4 seconds.
The car comes with an 11kW AC charger and supports 100kW DC fast charging.
