A cannabis company has shared plans to open up a cannabis growing facility in a shuttered Kraft Heinz factory near Baltimore.
MAS Alliance CEO Seth Murphy said his company is looking to build a 6,000-square-foot growing space on the site by the end of the year.
According to the Baltimore Business Journal, Murphy picked the spot because the old factory has 125,000 square feet of indoor space, plenty of room to expand.
MAS Alliance, which received its license back in 2020, wants to specialize in boutique cannabis products and alternate versions of established cannabis strains.
The company has already begun hiring for the cannabis cultivation operation and said it could eventually open a dispensary on or near the site.
Heinz Kraft announced plans to close the site in 2015. The Federalsburg factory primarily produced croutons and employed 89 people.
