LSH Auto is set to welcome three Australian apprentices for a week-long cultural and career development experience.

Arriving on November 1, Ray Sorrell (pictured), Louis Wade, and Adriano Minna, all employees of Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Australia, will explore the differences and synergies between UK and Australian apprenticeship programmes, gaining insights to take back home.

Their UK tour will include hands-on experience with the aftersales and parts teams at Mercedes-Benz of Stockport and Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham.

Katherine McLoughlin, LSH Auto’s Head of Aftersales, emphasized the importance of cross-country knowledge sharing: “We’re passionate about giving our apprentices the best start.” She highlighted the critical role of investing in young talent, particularly as automotive brands shift toward electric vehicle technology.

The apprentices will also visit local colleges to connect with UK students interested in apprenticeships, stay at Brooklands Hotel in Surrey, and enjoy a day at Mercedes-Benz World.

Rachel McDermot, Head of HR for LSH Auto, noted the value of apprenticeship programs. “Becoming an apprentice is a great way to earn money and a qualification whilst gaining invaluable real-life experience of the career you’re interested in.

“We currently have 74 apprentices working at our Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Stockport, Macclesfield, Whitefield, Birmingham, Solihull, and Tamworth. We offer ten courses, all with NVQ Level 3 qualifications.”
