Buying a car from Luscombe’s is undoubtedly a different experience when compared with almost any franchised or independent retailer in the UK.
Its entry so impressed the AM Awards judges that they granted it the Used Car Dealer of the Year Award, sponsored by Santander Consumer Finance.
Part of its approach is to establish a culture for the sales team where its members can operate as if they were self-employed and given free reign over all aspects of the sale. Micromanagement is neither desirable nor possible with this approach.
By its own admission, Luscombe Leeds knew it had become overly reliant on the expertise and experience of group managing director Robin Luscombe, particularly when it came to used car success.
The business needed to establish a framework that others could follow.
